live-at-the-Rendezvous DJ sets pasted together from the Feb edition of the Montague Phantom Brain Exchange .. one turntable, one fourtrack, one ipod and a crappy mixer.. a couple speshul bromp treb 4trk tapeloops were employed. minor disasters. heh. -from the Lyrichord LP "the Afro Arabian Crossroad - music of the tihama on the red sea, north yemen"

Yo! Back now for real in 2008! Fresh hard drives to stuff more hard driving drives. herding tapes n round things like records n' discs all into one convenient, if not confusing place. Two resolutions for the new year: i'm hosting a new monthly performance series at the bar down the hill from me in TF and of course, resuming the monthly frothy podcast. Are those resolutions? I have no idea, but that's what you say around this time. Now that's a smoove mix: Jambalaya - The Magic Organ, a Papa Joe Production LP

only left feet on the sloping dancefloor, featuring some real clunkers that can only be properly pronounced in the cassette medium (anthro rex, residents, brown cuts neighbors) checkout the keyparty jams towards the end of the mix... what happened? "une drole de journee" - Hrvatski

megamix of the best music ever - ethiopian soul music from 60s/70s. most of these tracks were pulled from various collections & reissues on the fabulous Buda Musique Label's Ethiopiques Series - get them all, i am trying. "wax & gold" is a lyric form full of double-meanings where seemingly fluffy content hides sentiments of dissatisfaction/protest from the crushing machine of the thought-police. i'd like to pour a few drops out for mister Mohammed 'Jimmy' Mohammed, who left us late in december. The last track, by him, is the only recent material on this mix, from his disc on Terp. i'm dedicating the first song on this mix to him, a beautiful tune by his hero, Tlahoun Gessesse - in english it's called, "The Memory I Will Leave Behind." Although not wax & gold, these lyrics start: "Record my voice so you can cry for me. It will be a memory on the day of my death." "Yene mastawesha" - Tlahoun Gessesse

Mess O Boops in the 2 double O 7 day two of newyear and here's what we got: one turntable, working tapedeck and the cd player... droppin bromp-style on the fly tapeloops to augment the already clunky edits - with the future goal of totally unpleasant unsmooth mixes. what themes can you make out of this one? tapelabel's mailing address has changed, send jams so i can continually be overwhelmed: Yeay! Cassettes PO box 7 Turners Falls, MA 01376 USA. piece of WAR / this is ruined / tapeloop

shit. spring cleaning for the winter solstice - this heap is offered to lighten the increasing load and keep the ship afloat. autumn was a fast n deep plummet, with more trying to get in, and so, here, cobbled together, are two failed mixes for your enjoyment/annoyance. no playlist, but MINUTEMEN do rep a few times, so it can't be that bad. regularity, positivity & freshness garanteed for the new jams of 2007.

much to be ecstatic about recently with so much a comin thru and the evenings chillin out. . . life under the flightplan of touring geese is complicated and full of small debris fires and perennial plantings. still, with a great deal of projects way overdue, here is the need to purge the system with a small mix of many friends who've recently performed round these parts (plus a few who i wished would, but may never). these norwegians were planted on our couch, lookit how well they sprouted! Flying Lizards - "herstory"

Podcast Summary"..for the release of both excretory & genital products.." megamixes of hype jams, noises, textures, & general clatter from two shitty turntables, tapedeck, cd player, all squeezed into a mixer and then out to the stereo-mini jack of my 'puter. with no preparation, i am trying to spit these out in weekly 1/2 hour editions - which sort of rarely happens. if you like, send me material for the ears: Yeay!
